I like to have some rules clarified. For things like the strobe ghost and luminous orbs treasure it mentions 2 in 6 or 3 in 6 chances for their effects to activate. How is this resolved? Do I have to roll 2 or lower or 3 or lower and so forth?

yup! your hunch is right, when it sys 2in6 chance, you should roll a "2" or "1" on a six sided die for the effect to activate !

This is a fun, very unique little game. Well worth the price! But it can be unbalanced and a bit confusing. Most treasure and ability bonuses are +, but many enemies and traps require low rolls. It's not clear which treasure is single use. Can everyone use the wand? I feel like the class bonuses should be +/- to make them more useful. If I were to change one thing I would call the Coward class Sneak-thief instead. Coward sounds negative compared to the others and that would keep the S class names going. Despite my criticism I really do like this! Totally worth checking out for a quick fun game.

Played this with my 5 year old last night for a little over an hour and man did we have fun! I've been slowly getting him interested in games like this and feel Spirals was the absolute best first step for him. I played for a further hour after his bedtime and had just as much fun without him. Watch out for that dreaming dragon though : )

That’s amazing! So encouraging to hear you both had fun :) thanks for playing!

Hi! I was wondering if I could receive a community copy of this to adapt to my journaling project for my classroom this coming school year. My email is Sharyna at gmail dot com … if so, thank you!

Hi, there.

I've played this game tonight and although I had fun doing it, there were some questions left unanswered by the pdf.

1. A Scrapper starts with 4 HD (and therefore 4 treasures). If all of them are combat related (like an helm, a leather armour, a spear and a shield) that means unless the monster's TR is of 6, my PC will automatically succeed over all of them since 1+4=5. Is this correct?!

2. On the free dungeon that came with the game there's a mention of Merchant on room number 5 and curiously this is the only place on the pdf this merchant appears. I really don't know what to do with it.

3. The bonuses from the treasures work only as "plus number" or can they work as "minus number" to help me when the TR is like 2, for example? Cause if it only works as "+number", it would actually make those kind of challenges more difficult if I chose to use them. They would feel more like a curse than as a bonus.

Hi! Thanks for playing the game, I will try to clarify some things as best I can :)

1. Hmm, this would seem correct! As you can use any number of Treasures for an encounter, you can get some pretty wacky bonuses that can make you rather powerful.

2. Ah! This was a poor edit on my part, on page 3 it lists a "Trader" as an encounter, the "Merchant" was meant to be worded the same but this was an oversight. To clarify, treat the Merchant in room 5 as you would a Trader.

3. That would be correct, if the Target Result is lower then Treasures that work as "minus number" would be more useful than "plus number". It was my intention that Treasures could be mixed and matched to offer various +/- to help get to the TR.

I hope that clarifies some things, and thank you for the notes. This is a game I would like to return to, and  clearly it needs an update! Thank you again for playing,!

This ultra-light dungeon-crawler is just brimming with fun. I agree with another poster that the language itself can be slightly confusing, but it’s so well done that it’s worth taking an extra minute to decipher.

The english isn't perfect, which leads to some minor confusion("+1 to monsters" being an example), but overall, this is a great little game with lots of character and obvious heart put into it, and I love it for that. Keep at it.
